The records say that the city has been a shoe producer since 1645, it was formed as a guild from 1808 and on May 24, 1926, the Union of Footwear Manufacturers of León was established. Finally, the Law of the Chambers of Commerce and Industries was authorized and recognized in 1942 the legal operation and existence of the Regional Footwear Chamber of León, made up of 80 members.
Since then, León has evolved the footwear industry, innovating in its processes, incorporating new technologies and, of course, giving a special and unmatched touch to its designs, even being a reference for the footwear industry in other countries.
