How to properly clean your leather shoes?
Leather boots are a very important part of your wardrobe, and maintaining them in a timely manner will help prevent them from getting damaged. For this reason, it is very important to clean, moisturize and care for your leather shoes to extend their useful life up to five years, of course, if you do it regularly and, above all, when they get dirty.
If your shoes are made of suede or nubuck, you will need special products:
- A cleaning brush to remove dirt.
- A special brush to apply cleaning foam (always use the soft part).
- A cleansing foam.
- Cream to nourish and renew color.
- Protective spray.
- A soft cloth.
It is very important that before starting to clean your leather footwear, you make sure to protect the surface where you will place your boots. Now, let's polish them!
- Remove shoelaces to prevent them from getting wet or stained.
- Remove dirt with one of the brushes we mentioned. Don't wait for the stains to dry, the sooner you clean them the less damage there will be and the easier it will be to clean them.
- Use soap to remove stubborn stains , you can also use foam cleaner. Be careful not to get the leather of the shoe too wet.
- Remove the soap or foam with a cloth until your boots are completely dry.
- Gently apply cream with a new cloth to hydrate and nourish the leather of your shoes, this will give them new life!
When you have followed these simple steps, you can take a polishing brush to give it that special shine that your leather shoes should have. Finally, let your shoes air dry, but be careful not to leave them in the sun, as this can cause discoloration or cracks in the leather. Once they are ready, you can spray them (from a distance of 30 cm) with a protective spray to make them softer, more flexible and waterproof.
